The US Amateur Team South Tournament started on Friday and after the Saturday morning round, the 3 day and the 2 day schedules have been merged.

This year we are pleased to see a new generation of of young stars in the open section. Nine year old John Ludwig (1650) is hoping to follow in his brothers footsteps. Daniel Ludwig is one of the top players in the country with many state and national titles. Daniel taught young John how to play and now John is becoming a force in his own right. Just a year ago John played on the winning Scholastic team with a rating of just 842.

Another young star from last years’ winning scholastic team is Amy Tsai. It looks like her hard work and the coaching efforts of Larry Storch have elevated her game as well. She is now playing in the Open section and is one of only 3 females playing the Open this year.
