May Tornado Concludes With A Tie For First Place!

Lake Nona's Theo Slade (2159) (L) and Orlando's Martin Hansen (2159) (R), who each have the exact same May 2017 regular rating of (2159), tie for 1st Place in CFCC's May 1-Day Saturday Tornado held last Saturday at UCF's Teaching Academy.

CFCC 2017 May 1-Day Tornado

Congratulations goes to Theo Slade and Martin Hansen for their 1st Place tie in last Saturday's CFCC May Tornado!

With a low turnout of only 7 players for the first of CFCC's summertime Saturday 1-day tornado's, the tournament director and players decided on a shorter time control of 4SS G/45;d5, instead of the normal 4SS G75;d5, allowing for a shorter day and a reduced prize fund to help make the tournament a success.

Our next 1-Day Tornado is on Saturday, July 8, 2017, and will be hosted at the UCF Teaching Academy.

NEXT CFCC TOURNAMENT EVENT

2017 CFCC Sunshine Open & Scholastic with Chess Stars™ side events
June 9-11, 2017 at the Rosen Plaza Hotel (across from Pointe Orlando)

For the planning purposes of CFCC members and players that normally attend our hotel tournaments, please note that the start of Rounds 2 & 3 will be delayed by an hour to accommodate the ChessStars™ "Guess Your Moves & Win" side events that are taking place during the weekend tournament.

Rounds 2 & 3 will be at 2:00pm & 7:00pm, instead of the normal 1:00pm & 6:00pm, which consequently can keep players at their boards up to an hour later than normal.

With Round 4 starting at 9am on Sunday morning, players that are used to our normal round start and end times may need to make some adjustments to their weekend tournament routine.
